How does a golf simulator work?

Golf simulators use a launch monitor, impact screen, projector and sensors to track the movement of your golf club and ball, and mimic the experience of playing golf.

It allows golfers to practice all elements of their game, through fun skills challenges, practice sessions or playing one of 700+ golf courses from around the world.

Ball tracking technology

Aces Indoor Golf uses state-of-the-art Foresight GC Quad launch monitors to track where and how you hit the ball.

The GC Quad registers the head speed of the golf club, while also mapping the spin and speed of the ball. The simulator then predicts the ball’s flight path once it makes contact with the impact screen.

You place your ball in the impact zone and hit it as would if out on the course.

Golf clubs and balls

You’re encouraged to bring your own clubs when you book an indoor bay. It’s these clubs that you’ll be playing with on the course so it’s wise to practice indoor with these too.

If you don’t have any, we have some clubs for you to borrow.

We provide balls to use as there are specific requirements of what balls can be used with the technology.

Display screens and projectors

While the GC Quad launch monitor is essential, a golf simulator also needs a display screen, computer and projector so golfers can interpret the data their shots create.

Our high-end impact screens mean that players can hit any shot they want as they usually would on the course, and our gaming computers allow for hundreds of courses to be used on our GS Pro and FSX Play software.
